THE HUMAN FLAGS

Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 20, 2026

This policy explains how data is used to operate The Human Flags at thehumanflags.com and deliver purchased digital pixel actions. For privacy questions or requests, contact info@thehumanflags.com.

1. Purchase information

We store the selected country, whether pixels are added or removed, pixel quantity, optional display name, payment provider and transaction reference, status, amount, currency, checkout reference and purchase timestamps. A browser guest identifier connects purchases to My contributions without requiring an account.

Enter a display name or select Anonymous. A display name is intended for public attribution; do not enter sensitive information. Selecting Anonymous omits the name from the purchase record but does not make the payment anonymous to Paddle.

Each country's public contributors page shows public display names, totals of pixels added and removed, and the date of the latest confirmed contribution. Public activity notifications may show the display name, country, selected action and pixel quantity. The public contributors page groups records by browser identity and public name, so one person may appear more than once. Browser identifiers, payment transaction references and checkout references are not displayed publicly.

Anonymous purchases appear as Anonymous and are not attributed to a public name used for another purchase from the same browser. We still keep the purchase and browser records needed to deliver the action, show your private contribution history and handle payment issues.

2. Payments and service providers

Paddle handles payment and billing information as merchant of record. We do not store card numbers or full card details. See Paddle's Privacy Notice for its processing of buyer data.

Hosting and infrastructure providers process data needed to operate the service. Requests include technical information such as IP addresses and browser information, which may appear in operational or security logs.

3. Cookies and browser storage

The GuestId cookie lasts up to 12 months and identifies purchases made in this browser. Necessary security and checkout cookies may also be used. Local storage remembers whether you dismissed the cookie information banner. Session storage temporarily keeps a pending purchase reference, selected country, action and quantity so payment confirmation can resume if the browser reloads during checkout. This is cleared after the confirmation display or a confirmed cancellation/failure; records older than 24 hours are discarded when the page next loads.

Clearing cookies or switching devices or browsers can disconnect My contributions from earlier purchases. Anonymous purchases still use the guest identifier for this history. Dismissing the information banner does not provide consent to optional tracking.

4. Purposes and retention

We use purchase data to fulfill orders, update flags and rankings, show private contribution history and public attribution as described above, handle support and payment disputes, prevent misuse and meet accounting or legal obligations. Processing is based on fulfilling your purchase, legitimate interests in operating and securing the service, and applicable legal obligations.

Purchase records may outlast the browser cookie where needed for accounting, disputes or legal obligations. Other data is retained only as needed for the purposes described here.

5. Your choices and requests

You can choose Anonymous before purchasing and clear browser storage through your browser settings. To request access, correction or deletion, or exercise other rights available under applicable law, contact info@thehumanflags.com. Some transaction records may need to be retained for legal obligations. You may also contact your local data protection authority.

6. Security and updates

We use reasonable safeguards to protect data. This page will display a revised date when the policy changes.
